Four charged after Sydney police pursuit ends with weapons and bleach in car
Four people have been charged after police found a machete, hammers, bleach, balaclavas and gloves in a stolen Honda SUV.
Police spotted the Honda fitted with altered number plates in Hebersham on Saturday night. When officers tried to stop it, the driver sped away, sparking a pursuit that was later called off for safety reasons.
Police tracked the vehicle on foot and found it stopped on Moorehead Road, with all four occupants fleeing the scene. Officers arrested all four after searching the area.
The search of the vehicle uncovered a machete, two hammers, three bottles of bleach, gloves, balaclavas and multiple changes of clothing. Police say the Honda was stolen from Jordan Springs in June.
The driver was charged with police pursuit, driving without consent and using an unauthorised number plate. One passenger faced an extra charge of possessing a knife in public.
All four were refused bail.
