Tests ordered after fish deaths reported in Cooma Creek
Water samples from Cooma Creek are being tested after residents reported dead fish and frogs.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council received reports of dead animals in the creek late Tuesday. Officers searched the banks and found one dead fish, but no frogs.
Water samples have been sent to an authorised laboratory for testing, with results expected within a week. The council ruled out a connection to a nearby sewer leak on Vale Street, saying there was no reason to believe the two incidents were linked.
No other contamination source has been identified yet.
