Missing couple rescued from Wineglass Bay after overnight search
A middle-aged couple was located by rescue helicopter at 2:40am after overnight search at the popular tourist site.
A man and woman went missing on a walk at Wineglass Bay in Tasmania on Friday evening. A concerned relative reported them uncontactable at about 11pm.
Search and rescue teams were sent right away. A rescue helicopter found the couple and airlifted them to safety at 2:40am.
Police described the pair as cold and tired. Police used the incident to remind bushwalkers to carry warm clothing, food and emergency communication devices.
