Police investigate after second infant dies at Hinchinbrook home

A newborn died shortly after birth at a Hinchinbrook home, four years after the mother's other child died there in 2022.

Emergency services responded to a home in Hinchinbrook about 6pm on Tuesday following the death of a newborn shortly after birth. The child's mother lost another baby at the same address in 2022.

Police say there is no suggestion of wrongdoing in either case, and no charges were laid in the 2022 death. Police have opened an investigation into the latest death.
