Marion Griffin gets solo statue after joint plan scrapped

The ACT ordered a solo sculpture of Marion Mahony Griffin for Commonwealth Avenue. The National Capital Authority had ordered two bronze statues of both Griffins for Lake Burley Griffin's north side. When it learned of the ACT's plan, the NCA cancelled its project and paid $33,000 in compensation.
