Google celebrates September 27 birthday, not its actual founding date
Google was officially incorporated September 4, 1998, but the search giant celebrates its birthday on September 27.

The shift to September 27 came in the mid-2000s. In an index war with Yahoo, Google announced a record number of web pages on September 27, 2005.
