John Goodman on 90kg weight loss: still getting used to my face

John Goodman, 74, has lost more than 90kg and is adjusting to his transformed body and face.

Actor John Goodman has lost more than 90kg and admitted on a recent podcast that he's still getting used to his new appearance. At his heaviest, he weighed 181kg.

Goodman said his weight loss has left his body too damaged, and he refused a nude scene on The Righteous Gemstones because of this. John Goodman quit drinking in 2007 at age 55, calling it a life-saving choice, and credits sobriety with helping him lose the weight and keep it off.

Before quitting alcohol, he said he'd lose 27kg one summer then regain it, then lose 36kg the next. He reflected that earlier in his career his weight likely held him back through self-sabotage.
