Cricket club grows to 120 members but has no home ground
Illawarra Passionate Cricketers has grown to 120 players but still lacks a permanent home ground.
Illawarra Passionate Cricketers Club (IPCC) has grown to 120 registered junior and senior players in just a few years. The club started in 2016-17 as a small group.
The club joined Cricket Illawarra officially in 2021-22 and soon competed in the first-grade competition. Despite this rapid growth, IPCC still plays at temporary venues including West Dalton Park in Fairy Meadow.
Earlier options at Fred Finch Park and Kully Bay fell through. The club is seeking a permanent home ground with training nets, a turf wicket, and storage facilities.
It also wants a long-term pavilion and clubhouse. Wollongong City Council promised to help find a ground when IPCC joined the competition but has not yet delivered.
