Man admits carjacking car with two toddlers inside
Ryan Meuleman, 28, pleaded guilty to stealing a car with two three-year-old children inside during a May incident at a Pakenham laundromat.
Ryan Meuleman drove into a parked car outside a Melbourne laundromat on May 3. A woman and her two three-year-old children were inside.
The woman screamed and wrestled with him over the gear stick as he tried to drive away. The woman's husband ran back from collecting laundry and punched Meuleman.
He held Meuleman on the ground until police arrived. Meuleman pleaded guilty on Tuesday to carjacking with a child in the vehicle.
He also pleaded guilty to giving false details to officers and committing an indictable offence while on bail. He was already on bail for separate theft and burglary charges.
Magistrate Samantha Seoud denied bail, citing the fact The Cottage had not reassessed Meuleman since his August episode.
