Wicker short story becomes Olivia Colman fantasy film

Ursula Wills' 14-page 2006 short story becomes a film starring Colman, Skarsgård and Dinklage, opening 30 October.

A British author saw wicker sculptures during a camping trip to Cornwall. She wrote a story about a fisherwoman who buys a wicker husband from a basket-maker.

Ursula Wills' story is called The Wicker Husband. It sat on a short story website for a while.

Writers found it and expanded it into a film called Wicker. They describe it as a raunchy fantasy rom-com.

The film stars Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Peter Dinklage. The writers made the intimate relationship between the fisherwoman and her wicker husband more intense to "liven it up".

The movie opens in UK cinemas on 30 October. Wills now has a literary agent.

A new collection of 13 short stories from her arrives worldwide in April.
