Richelle Hill returns to Noosa Triathlon after mystery collapse
Australian under-23 champion Richelle Hill returns to racing at Noosa after collapsing during a Hamburg relay with no diagnosis found.
Richelle Hill, crowned under-23 world champion last October, collapsed during the bike leg of a mixed relay race in Hamburg in July. Richelle Hill experienced double vision and dizziness and spent three days in a German hospital.
Doctors could not find a cause, though tests cleared her heart despite an irregular heartbeat. The 24-year-old is now competing at Sunday's Noosa Triathlon despite the lingering mystery.
She told reporters the experience plays on her mind but doctors have assured her it won't happen again. Hill has finished on the Noosa podium three times but never won.
The women's field is wide open with defending champion Jess Fullagar not defending her title.
