Jacob Evans to be sentenced for harassment of shop workers in CBD
Jacob Evans faces sentencing October 15 for threats and assaults on retail workers.
Jacob Evans, 38, has been in custody for nearly two months awaiting sentencing. Evans was charged with threatening and harassing retail workers across Warrnambool central business district.
Evans faces more than a dozen charges. Five are counts of assault on a retail worker.
Three are counts of threats to kill. He is also charged with theft from shops and breaking community orders.
The alleged offending occurred between Saturday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 19. A psychological assessment shows Evans has a substance use disorder involving methamphetamine.
He also has post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression and anxiety. The magistrate said sentencing could include jail time.
An assessment was ordered to determine if Evans is suitable for another community corrections order with proper support.
