Man accused of killing two family members at same property
Nicholas Scott is accused of murdering two related men two weeks apart at a property in northern NSW.
Police say Nicholas Scott killed a 79-year-old man at a property in Gurranang, about 25km north of Grafton. Two weeks later, as police searched the same place for clues, they found a 59-year-old relative in a shed.
The younger man had come to NSW to help police and to settle the older man's estate when Scott allegedly attacked him. Police say both men suffered similar injuries.
Scott was arrested at a hospital in Grafton and charged with two counts of murder and taking a vehicle. He appeared in court on Wednesday without seeking bail and will return in December.
Police describe the scene as extremely upsetting for first responders.
