Paul Gallen spars with 20-year-old heavyweight giant ahead of fight

Paul Gallen, 45, is preparing for Nelson Asofa-Solomona. Gallen is sparring with Ibrahim 'Ibby' Mohammed, a 20-year-old super heavyweight weighing nearly 140kg.

Paul Gallen is finishing his final camp before fighting Nelson Asofa-Solomona on November 6. Gallen's secret weapon is a giant young boxer named Ibrahim 'Ibby' Mohammed.

Mohammed is only 20 but stands 208 centimetres tall and weighs almost 140kg. Mohammed is seven centimetres taller than Asofa-Solomona.

Gallen has praised the amateur after four sparring sessions. "He's bigger than Nelson and a way better boxer," Gallen said.

Mohammed only started boxing in his late teens. Mohammed did this to shed weight from over 170kg.

Mohammed is headed to the 2028 Olympic Games with support from famous trainer Johnny Lewis. Gallen also recently sparred with Newcastle's Brandon 'The Bull' Grach.

Gallen was approached about training in Thailand with heavyweight prospect Teremoana Teremoana.
