Parents in Catholic schools across the Canberra and Goulburn Archdiocese face fee rises of up to 7.5% for 2027, with the annual building levy climbing to $1000. The increase follows a 10% rise this year driven by teacher salaries, travel and excursion insurance, computer technology, books and stationery.
The archdiocese says real decreases in per-student government funding are putting pressure on fees. ACT primary schools will see fees climb up to 6%, while four of five Catholic ACT secondary colleges will lift fees 7.5%.
For a family with two children in an ACT primary school, the total increase will be about $870. The building levy, introduced in 2025, will reach $1000 in 2027 after three planned increases.
The archdiocese offers fee remissions for families unable to pay and sibling discounts.
