Calderwood's $3 million public park breaks ground, opens July 2027
A $3 million park breaks ground in Calderwood, opening July 2027.
The Calderwood community is about to gain a major new gathering space. Construction began November 5 on a $3 million park inside the Cascadia housing project near Albion Park in the Illawarra.
The park will open in July 2027. The park covers 2000 square metres and will include children's play equipment, shaded picnic areas, native plants, nature play, walking paths and cycling tracks.
Cascadia will serve 455 homes, and the park will also serve the wider Calderwood community. Sekisui House, the developer, is positioning the park as a central public space.
The $520 million community build launched in May. The first homes have already sold and residents are moving in.
