Ava Yukselis manages a thriving braiding business while preparing for her HSC final exams.
Ava Yukselis learned to braid at age eight and turned her passion into a business by age eleven. Ava now runs Beauty and the Braids by Ava as a Year 12 student at Warilla High School.
Ava is preparing for the HSC with her first exam on October 13. Ava works around her study schedule with early morning braids before school.
She does two more braids in the afternoon. Each one takes about thirty minutes.
Beauty and the Braids by Ava has moved from the family garage to its own studio space. During school holidays, Ava attends study sessions and tutoring.
She focuses on advanced maths and English. She has received early entry offers to the University of Wollongong to study primary education or business.
She is leaning towards teaching so she can keep braiding during uni holidays.
