Wayne Taylor makes final bid for Victorian parliament
Wayne Taylor, founder of Legalise Cannabis Victoria, is running for Victoria's upper house and says it's his final campaign.
Wayne Taylor, a Castlemaine real estate agent and long-time cannabis reform advocate, has announced his candidacy for Victoria's upper house in the 2026 state election. The 57-year-old founded Legalise Cannabis Victoria.
Taylor says this is his final attempt at winning a seat after previous runs at federal and state level. The upper house voting system gives him a better chance.
He needs about 16.7 per cent of the vote in Northern Victoria Region. The lower house requires more than 50 per cent in a single seat.
Taylor campaigns on legalising personal cannabis use and expanding the hemp industry. He also wants to reform driving laws for medicinal cannabis users.
He cited concerns about roads, homelessness, and ambulance delays.
