Spurs stun Chelsea with own goal as Penders punches into empty net

Tottenham won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders scored an own goal from a corner.

Chelsea's set-piece coach Austin MacPhee ordered his team to push players forward for attacking chances, leaving the box dangerously exposed. When Tottenham swung in a corner from the left, Penders faced a soaking ball in heavy rain with no defenders near him.

Penders punched it straight into his own net. Cole Palmer was sent off later for a second yellow, and Tottenham sealed the win when Mathys Tel scored in the 87th minute.

Why it mattersChelsea's poorest start in years left them struggling for wins, and this loss to a rival makes their job harder. The tactical blunder shows the risks of systems without common sense.
