Diet Coke back on Maccas menu after four-year break

Diet Coke was removed from all Maccas in early 2023 but returns today in response to customer feedback.

McDonald's Australia has brought Diet Coke back to menus after a four-year absence, responding to strong customer calls. The drink was removed from all restaurants nationally in early 2023 as McDonald's focused on Coke Classic and Coke Zero.

Diet Coke is now rolling out across stores, with the complete rollout continuing over the coming months. Diet Coke is available in meal deals alongside other soft drink options like Sprite and Fanta.

Fans have celebrated the return; Diet Coke had been a menu staple for decades before its 2023 removal. McDonald's has partnered with Coca-Cola since opening its first Australian store in 1971.
