Asos hackers accessed customer names and contact details.
Asos app users got a warning Tuesday night. The retailer had been hacked.
The message claimed attackers had fully compromised Snowflake, the cloud platform Asos uses to store customer data. Asos confirmed that names and contact details may have been accessed.
The company said payment card information and account passwords were not affected. Asos has restricted access to its systems.
It is working with authorities and specialist advisors to investigate. The stock price fell more than 10 per cent on the London Stock Exchange after the alert.
