Wagyu prices climb from 2025 lows as market recovers
F1 Wagyu prices averaged $2200 per head in Q2 2026, up 3 per cent from the previous quarter.
Australian Wagyu prices strengthened across most categories in the second quarter of 2026, building on recovery that began in early 2025. The clearest gains appeared at the higher genetic end of the market.
F1 cattle averaged $2200 per head, up 3 per cent from Q1. F2 averaged $2300, up 4 per cent.
F4 Pureblood Wagyu climbed to $3100 per head, marking the first quarterly average above $3000 since the strong market of 2021 and 2022. Fullblood cattle reached an average of $4825 per head, up 7 per cent.
The recovery from early 2025 has been dramatic. F1 prices have jumped from $989 per head to $2200.
F2s have risen from $1040 to $2300. Even with prices still below 2021-22 peaks, the direction across the Wagyu complex is increasingly clear.
