Widow turns husband's death from brain cancer into research fundraiser
After her husband died of glioblastoma, Ally Boers is fundraising for brain cancer research with an October 24 event in Corryong.
Clint Boers was a fit 44-year-old farmer. Clint died in June 2025 from glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer that grows fast.
Ally found little focused funding for the disease and started fundraising. Ally's first event in 2024 raised more than $20,000 for brain cancer research.
Treatment and surgery briefly shrank the tumour by about 40 per cent, but the cancer progressed. Clint eventually lost his speech and mobility.
Ally has set up a second fundraiser for October 24 at Corryong Recreation Reserve from 5pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children, with raffles, auctions, music and prizes.
