Australia's 180m moustache believed visible from space
A 180-metre-wide moustache was created in Broken Hill to raise awareness of men's health and suicide prevention.
To launch Movember, a men's health campaign, campaigners shaved a giant moustache into an airstrip at Mt Gibbs Station near Broken Hill in NSW. The Big Red Mo stretches 180 metres wide and is believed to be the first moustache visible from space.
Movember encourages men to grow moustaches to raise awareness of health issues including suicide prevention and prostate cancer. The International Space Station has been asked to photograph it.
Comedian Luke McGregor is among supporters. The Movember Foundation, started in 2003 by two Melbourne mates, has raised over $1.8 billion across 20 countries for men's health projects.
