Sandhurst premiership star Wright joins Colbinabbin for midfield chance
Lachlan Wright, a four-time grand finalist and 2024 premiership winner at Sandhurst, has signed with Colbinabbin in hopes of playing midfield.
Wright was a key position player for Sandhurst, playing at either end of the ground over his four seasons. Wright won the 2024 Bendigo league premiership and the AFL Victoria Medal for his back-half performance.
Colbinabbin coach Linton Jacobs sees potential in Wright's versatility. Jacobs plans to use him in the midfield, where he can add a new dimension to the Grasshoppers' lineup.
Wright played as a forward too and was Sandhurst's leading goalkicker with 45 in his first season. Lachlan Wright joins premiership teammate Isaac Carracher at Colbinabbin.
The Grasshoppers last won a flag in 2008 and have lost the past two preliminary finals.
