Nick Rakocevic escapes suspension with $1,550 fine for striking
Rakocevic accepted early guilty plea, paying $1,550 fine to play Wednesday instead of serving one-game suspension.
On Sunday, Rakocevic struck Mojave King under the basket in Adelaide's 88-72 loss to New Zealand. The Game Review Panel charged him with intentional striking, which normally carries a one-game ban.
The 36ers accepted an early guilty plea, cutting the penalty to a $1,550 fine. Rakocevic can now play Wednesday against Melbourne United.
The incident is his third charge in the NBL. In December he got a two-game ban (one suspended) for striking Finn Delany.
In January he faced misconduct charges after a chokehold with a Brisbane player.
