Warrnambool secures $500,000 to repair cracked residential street

Warrnambool Council awarded about $507,000 to repair Evelyn Crescent, which has up to 70 percent cracking and critical defects.

Evelyn Crescent in Warrnambool's north was found to have up to 70 percent cracking and critical defects during inspections. The council awarded HIWAY Australia about $507,000 to rebuild the street.

The council is funding $200,000 with federal support. Work will begin in February 2027 and will impact 90 percent of residents.

Councillor Richard Ziegeler said the system that fixes roads one at a time is "an indictment on the system".
