Cottesloe Beach shark barrier installed ahead of summer season
Cottesloe Beach's shark barrier was installed after weather delays.
The 170-metre barrier extends 140 metres from the shoreline. The barrier will stay in place until the end of April.
Installation work began Monday and finished Wednesday after stormy weather forced a postponement. The barrier's return comes as Perth beaches face more shark activity.
A fatal attack at Sorrento Beach killed father Greg O'Neill. The Town of Cottesloe spends $120,000 yearly on the barrier.
Sister barriers at Quinns Beach and Bathers Beach in Fremantle are expected to be in place by mid to late October.
