Australian startup launches AI tool to help doctors find answers fast
Medcast has launched MedLuma. It's an AI platform to help Australian GPs find reliable medical answers quickly.
Medcast was founded in 2013. The company developed MedLuma to help Australian GPs find answers to medical questions quickly.
The company has already trained more than 100,000 registered health professionals. MedLuma launched earlier this year.
It uses Australian medical guidelines and sources with direct citations. It is designed to reduce time doctors spend searching for information while treating patients.
The technology will integrate with practice management systems. CEO Dr Stephen Barnett said the focus is building AI that doctors can trust.
Lewis said medical-grade AI is harder to build than simple search tools. It must be accurate and verifiable.
