Albury Show returns this weekend with giant 35-metre Ferris wheel

Albury Show reopens Friday and Saturday with a 35-metre Ferris wheel and sheep competition returning for the first time in decades.

The Albury Show was saved from collapse seven months ago when a new volunteer management committee took over. Now it returns Friday and Saturday with a giant 35-metre Ferris wheel, 10 new rides and the sheep competition back for the first time in decades.

Organisers spent $30,000 on entertainment. The entertainment includes a working kelpies show, reptile display and the Outback Stockman Show.

The Showmen's Guild of Australasia helped bring the Ferris wheel and major rides. The venue is run entirely by volunteers and is not-for-profit; entry covers access to most entertainment.

Show times are 3pm to 9pm Friday and 9am to 9pm Saturday.
