Stebbings named in Australia's Brisbane 2032 Olympics hockey squad
Oliver Stebbings is one of 10 players selected for Hockey Australia's 2032 Olympics program.
Oliver Stebbings, a 20-year-old defender from Launceston, has been named in Hockey Australia's Talent Accelerator 2032, which develops the country's best young hockey players before the Brisbane Olympics.
Stebbings was player of the tournament at just 16, earning this honor when Tasmania won the under-18 national championships in 2023. It was the state's first title in that age group.
Hockey Australia's Futures squad has already selected Stebbings. The wider Kookaburras national squad has also selected him.
Two of his teammates at North-West Graduates made the 10-player program as well. They are Angus McMullen and goalkeeper Magnus McCausland.
The group will meet for a training camp in South Australia in late November. Stebbings just returned from the under-21 Oceania Cup.
