England players defend Borthwick ahead of Australia rugby test
England players have backed coach Steve Borthwick against allegations of unrest, ahead of Sunday's test against Australia.
Allegations surfaced this week that England players sought clear-the-air talks during the summer, citing a toxic environment under coach Steve Borthwick. The claims included a training ground confrontation with prop Ellis Genge.
Borthwick has rejected the accusations as inaccurate. On Thursday, England's leaders including captain Jamie George called a team meeting to discuss the allegations.
George said the squad is galvanised and fully behind the coach. Maro Itoje said he is shocked by the claims and backs Borthwick 100 per cent.
