Telstra and REINSW expand AI agents to staff and members
Telstra and REINSW are giving staff and members access to custom AI agents originally built for executives.
Australian companies are pushing AI beyond the boardroom. Telstra's agent helped directors prepare for meetings and draft board papers.
Now it is testing AI to help prepare board minutes and assist with other tasks. Real estate body REINSW built Alice Ing, an AI agent for board members in 2024.
It now plans to give roughly 10,953 individual members access to a similar bot made for their own offices. Telstra and REINSW are carefully managing data security.
Telstra made its tool sit within internal systems only. It requires staff to complete responsible AI training before use.
REINSW locks Alice within its own secure information environment so it cannot access outside data. The move comes as directors are warned not to hand over critical duties entirely to AI.
They should watch for inaccurate or biased outputs.
