US and Israel plan new strikes on Iran after US elections

The US and Israel plan new strikes on Iran's weapons and nuclear sites after US elections.

The US and Israeli militaries are preparing for renewed strikes on Iran after the November US elections. Plans include targeting Iran's energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and missile and drone arsenals.

The two militaries have stepped up exercises. Planes are flying over Iraq to practice strike moves.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week. They discussed the operation.

Some US officials believe another major round of attacks could damage Iran's economy. This might force diplomatic concessions.

However, previous strikes between February and April drove up global energy prices. They also caused inflation, strained Pentagon missile supplies, and failed to change Iran's position.

Iran has warned it will expand retaliation targets. These include data centers and underwater internet cables.
