One Nation sacked staffer over rape conviction, underworld concerns
Former One Nation campaign manager Charles Swindon claims he was fired for raising misconduct concerns.
Charles Swindon ran One Nation's first successful federal campaign. He claims the party wrongly sacked him.
He says he reported concerns about ties to Sean Black, a former director jailed in 2018 for rape and assault. Swindon says senior official Kelvin Morton joked about Black's conviction as 'surprise sex'.
Morton denies making that joke but admitted last week to lying about his military and US political work. Swindon also raised concerns about Victorian state secretary Bianca Colecchia.
She managed a strip club whose chief promoter was accused by police of financing a Comanchero bikie gang. In an interview, Swindon described One Nation as 'a really shady place', weirdly incompetent and chaotic.
- 2018 jailing for rape and assault
- Sean Black conviction
- NSW seat of Farrer, May byelection
- David Farley victory
Why it mattersThese claims raise serious questions about One Nation's leadership and ethics ahead of a Victorian state election.
