Canberra voters can rename and reshape electoral map
The ACT Redistribution Committee asks residents to suggest new boundaries and names for Canberra's five electoral districts.
The ACT is asking residents and organisations to help redraw and rename its electoral map before the 2028 Territory election. The public has 28 days to comment, closing on 3 November.
Residents can suggest changes to the boundaries and names of the five Legislative Assembly electorates: Brindabella, Ginninderra, Kurrajong, Murrumbidgee and Yerrabi. A redistribution happens before each election to account for changes in population and voter numbers.
This keeps representation roughly equal across the territory. The committee will weigh suggestions based on communities of interest, transport links, geography and existing boundaries.
After submissions close, the public gets another 14 days to comment on all suggestions. Then the committee will release a proposed map.
