Jogger faces long recovery after Brisbane dog attack, wife describes trauma
Ajay Malik was mauled by two dogs while jogging in Brisbane on October 16.
Malik was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in critical condition. Malik is now stable but faces a long recovery and battles pneumonia and blood clots along with physical wounds.
Malik cannot sleep because he keeps reliving the attack, his wife Ema Sirohi told media. Malik is haunted by memories of the dogs and the violence of the mauling.
He still feels pain from his injuries and faces more surgeries. A GoFundMe launched for the family has raised over $21,000 to cover medical bills, living expenses, and transport.
The injuries are to both ears, his upper lip, and bicep. One of the two dogs was shot by police; the other is under a destruction order.
