Hungry Jack's video sparks ugly TikTok feud over nationality
A US bodybuilder's video comparing Hungry Jack's to Burger King sparked a hostile TikTok feud.
US bodybuilder David Ziegler, who runs a gym app called Guest Pass, was visiting Sydney to promote independent gyms. Ziegler made a short video pointing out that Hungry Jack's looked and tasted like Burger King.
Ziegler noted both served the Whopper and joked it was the "king of nothing". Australian creator Croc Turnbull responded with a video calling Americans "dumb" and "f**king seppos".
He told Ziegler to "put the weights down" and read a book. Turnbull claimed Ziegler was bagging out Australians.
Ziegler replied that he made the video because he found the story interesting and wanted to share it in a fun, cheeky way. He fact-checked Turnbull, noting Hungry Jack's was started by a Canadian and is now Australian-owned, not American.
