Beloved Melbourne pawnshop-nightclub puts venue up for auction
Pawn and Co's Prahran pawnshop-nightclub goes to auction from October 10 to December 12.
Pawn and Co opened in Prahran in 2012 as a unique nightclub that was also a pawnshop. Everything was for sale: glasses, paintings, vintage chairs, even the bartender's bow-tie.
The venue hosted big DJs and celebrities including Dom Dolla, Buddy Franklin and Dylan Alcott. Now the venue itself is on the market.
A silent auction runs from October 10 to December 12. Stakeholder Josh Lefers said they wanted a buyer with vision.
The buyer should expand the venue while honouring its music and late-night culture. The owners aren't chasing the highest price; they're looking for the right steward.
