Agriculture award opens with $10,000 package for young farm professionals
The 2027 Zanda McDonald Award gives young farmers a $10,000 education package and fully funded travel across Australia and New Zealand.
The Zanda McDonald Award is open to young farming and agribusiness professionals aged 21 to 35. Two winners are chosen yearly, one from Australia and one from New Zealand.
Each gets a $10,000 education package and fully funded trips across both countries. Winners also get mentoring from agricultural leaders and support for their professional growth.
Award chair Shane McManaway said successful applicants will be ready to make a real difference in agriculture. The 2026 Australian winner was Bryce Neyland.
He works as a capital project manager at Select Harvests in NSW. He finished his mentoring and said the award helped him think clearly about his career direction.
Applications opened October 1 and close October 31, 2026.
