Newcastle musician learns 29 songs in a fortnight for Keith Urban tour

Gabi Louise learnt 29 songs in two weeks for Keith Urban's 2025 tour, launching her music career.

Newcastle fiddler Gabi Louise stepped up on short notice for Keith Urban's 2025 Australian tour. She learnt 29 songs on fiddle and mandolin in just two weeks.

Urban found her after recommendations from country musicians Troy Cassar-Daley and Lee Kernaghan. The 26-year-old excelled despite the pace.

Urban displayed her band Wicker Suite's tour poster on the main screens each night. The exposure flooded in interest in her own music.

It opened doors for new opportunities. Louise is completing a neuroscience PhD at the University of Newcastle.

She also maintains her career as a session and touring musician. She and her husband Liam Kennedy-Clark, also a musician, released their second album's lead single this week.
