Churchlands Primary School enforces 40km/h speed limit with cameras
Speed cameras now enforce 40km/h limits at Churchlands Primary School during school hours.
The cameras are part of WA's $80 million road safety program, which put 20 semi-fixed cameras at high-risk school zones statewide. Churchlands Primary has more than 550 students.
Churchlands Primary was chosen after the Road Safety Commission reviewed speed data at the school. The speed limit outside school hours on Pearson Street is 70km/h.
All camera fines go to road safety work aimed at reducing injuries and deaths. Four other schools will also get cameras: Maida Vale Primary School, Hampton Senior High School, Hammond Park Catholic Primary School and Secondary College, and Kingsway Christian College.
