Brodie McGregor joins Hawks eager to escape father's shadow
The 19-year-old son of Scott McGregor signed a one-year development contract with Illawarra in August.

The signing came after a strong NBL1 North season with Gold Coast Rollers. Brodie averaged 14 points, five rebounds and two assists in his second season with the Rollers.
The Hawks reached out toward the end of their campaign. McGregor is focusing on professional basketball in Australia for now.
College remains an option. He wants to be known for his own play, not as more than Scott McGregor's son.
The move also keeps him away from home, building independence. McGregor made his Hawks debut in round two against Sydney Kings.
He scored his first points at home against Adelaide last week. The crowd was energised.
