How much is the age pension in Australia?

From 20 September 2026 the most is $1,237.70 a fortnight for a single person, and $933.00 each for a couple. Income and assets can lower it.

Does owning my home change the limit?

Yes. The limits are higher for someone who does not own their home. For a single person the full pension limit is $333,000 for a homeowner and $600,000 for a non-homeowner.

Does working affect the age pension?

Income from work counts in the income test. Services Australia says you must report it, even if it is under the cut off point. It also has a Work Bonus that can help you keep more of your pension while you work.

How fast does the pension fall as assets go up?

Between the full pension limit and the cut off the pension is reduced. The Services Australia page gives the two limits but not the rate, so this page does not draw a line between them.
