Can my landlord come in without asking in Victoria?
No. They need a reason and written notice: 7 days for inspections, 24 hours for repairs.
Your clock
- 7 days' notice: Inspection or valuation
- 24 hours' notice: Repairs or suspected breach
- 48 hours' notice: Showing buyers or renters
- 7 days' notice: Advertising photos
The rule in Victoria
- Entry is 8am to 6pm, not on a public holiday, unless you agree.
- Routine inspections: not in the first 3 months, then once every 6 months at most.
- Showing renters: last 21 days only, twice a week.
You can object in writing to advert photos showing things that identify you, or are private or valuable.
