Banchero ruled out as Knicks face Magic without All-Star forward
Paolo Banchero will miss Sunday's game against the Knicks after sustaining a high ankle sprain.
All-Star power forward Paolo Banchero suffered a high ankle sprain in Friday's loss to the Timberwolves. He will not play in Sunday's game at MSG against the Knicks.
Banchero opened the season with 35 points on efficient 10-for-12 shooting against the Hawks. The Knicks are defending NBA champions but have lost their first two games.
They are the first defending champs to start 0-2 since the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. Coach Mike Brown said the team breaks its season into five-game segments.
Anything less than a 3-2 record in those segments means "nobody is reaching their potential."
