Workplace simulator gives students without internships hands-on job training
HEX has launched WorkSim. This is a virtual workplace simulator. It gives students practical experience when they cannot find internships.
WorkSim puts students into a simulated remote team. Students tackle business problems, work with stakeholders, and use AI tools.
The platform was co-designed with educators and students from RMIT's College of Vocational Education. The platform is now part of the Diploma of Business.
Over 400 RMIT students are already enrolled. HEX cofounder and CEO Jeanette Cheah said educators and employers needed to rethink how young people enter the workforce.
Partners include Atlassian Foundation, Canva Foundation, Xero, Automation Anywhere, Stone & Chalk and the Adelaide Fringe. Streams cover business strategy, marketing, automation, grants for creatives, product management, entrepreneurship and accounting.
Each stream is backed by industry sponsors who design relevant challenges for learners.
