Referee Ashley Klein faced fresh scrutiny over Bunker decisions in the Roosters' preliminary final win at Suncorp Stadium Friday night. Early on, Jamayne Isaako's try appeared to touch the sideline and the field at the same time.
The Bunker reviewed it closely and confirmed it as a try, but Cameron Smith disagreed on commentary, saying it looked like it was on the line. Later, Robert Toia scored after a Mark Nawaqanitawase pass that looked suspiciously forward.
Bunker caller Peter Psaltis cleared it, saying it's a game of millimetres. The Dolphins crowd loudly protested the decision.
Toia's try made it 22, 10. The Roosters ran away to win and booked their first grand final since 2019.
Klein had been moved to the Bunker after controversial calls in the Warriors-Knights semi-final the week before.
