Former NRL star Hutchison returns for Albion Park grand final after 14 years
Drew Hutchison returns to Albion Park Oak Flats for first grade grand final this Saturday against Kiama Knights, 14 years after leaving.
Drew Hutchison has returned to Albion Park Oak Flats after nearly a decade and a half away, taking the field for the club's first grade grand final. Hutchison last appeared in a Group 7 grand final in 2012 when he played under-18s for the Eagles, who won that year.
Drew Hutchison then played nearly 100 NRL games and 35 England Super League appearances. Albion Park captain Josh Sainsbury is seeking his own slice of history, chasing the premiership his father Shane Sainsbury secured in 2012.
The Eagles have not won a title since then. Albion Park face defending premiers Kiama Knights this Saturday at Centenary Field, in a grand final matchup the two clubs have never played before.
