Jenkins chases NRL grand final dream after failed Newcastle season
Jenkins scored 30 tries after returning to Penrith from a failed 2024 stint at Newcastle.
Tom Jenkins, 25, signed a two-year deal with Newcastle for the 2024 season but left after just five games. He spent most of that year in reserve grade, sidelined by Enari Tuala and Greg Marzhew.
He didn't score in any Newcastle match before departing. Jenkins returned to Penrith and this season scored 30 tries, his best tally yet.
He plays Newcastle on Sunday in the grand final qualifier, two wins from his maiden premiership. "I wasn't getting the coaching and communication I needed there," Jenkins told media.
He's re-signed with Penrith through the end of 2029.
